Norsk ski

We planned to sleep very late, to work a bit and to cook a lot, as for a usual sunday, but the sun awoke us! Our garden when getting up (10h30): And of course we did it again! Nice view, and missing skiing over the fjord, only 10 min far from our place...

Ski!

Our first time in Norway, and even our first time for 2 winters (summer skiing in July in New Zealand was special). Was greaaaat! Everything is different in Norway, and we even didn't pay anything to go skiing! We had only credit card, they took only...

Langrenn!

At last! Second hand shoes were bought during the week, cross country skis bought midday today, straight away after reading the add on internet. 2 pm, we are ready! 10 minutes were supposed to be enough to go from home to slopes, but with the icy weather...

Telin # departure !

We got up not before 10 am (was nice :-)), then dishes and breakfast, in this order to keep enjoying ;-) But we went there to ski! and that's what we did! ... same as Mike Horn :-) We still need training for downhill ... A big lunch (again), and it was...

Svensk ski

First time was great, so we did it again. Start of the day, 5h30. Then 15 min to remove the snow from the car (30cm), and the rest you know about. Arrival exactly on time, but weather not so good (yes we wanted it sunny). Much more snow in Norway than...

Everything is possible ...

... but not that soon! Badminton week-end out of Trondheim, and even if we didn't win exactly as we wished to, we had great fun! We have been spending the whole week-end in Grong (funny eh?), some 200 km north to Trondheim, and we were much closer to...

Om kald

It is cold and we can tell! Our lock this morning, inside (!). A A simple zoom to better explain: the frozen air managed to come in, through our lock! -16 degrees, remember ... But don't worry, it was only our "entrance", and some more doors are separating...

First time ...

One full week to deal with the cold (-5° on average), slippy roads without snow tyres, changing wheather forecast, windows to scrap everyday at least twice, and today, a cool picture: This is then our street, with the sunshine! Let's visit ... Uh, a cycle...

Telin # arrival !

Once again ! This time was Telin, one of the "cosiest" NTNU cabins. Small organization problems, and finally we were only 10 min late :-) 2 cars, 4 countries, and the sun! There was also a moose that decided to cross the road running, about 50 cm from...

A norwegian saturday ...

... as usual! We waked up not that early, because of the "Julebord" we attended the day before. That's a dinner to celebrate Christmas/New year, very common in Norway. And this was was my Faculty's :-) Then a shopping afternoon (sales are ending today)...

Bergen! (#1)

Week-end ot the south to find sun during winter, and we chose Bergen, the second biggest city in Norway. But we had first to get to the airport, after a 35 km drive on icy road, at 6 am a saturday. Half an hour to wait, and it is time to land off, on...

Snow update

The view form my office. Cool, isn't it? :-) Picture taken around 1pm today, between 2 snow showers. But do not worry, we went back home safely around 7:30 pm in the middle of a snow storm and we even tried to make a snowman to compete with our (small)...

Holidays pictures

Back in Trondheim!

We were really lucky, since on day later, we would have spend the night waiting at Roissy airport, with some hundreds of travellers. 'was cold in Roissy (-8°), very cold in Oslo (-15°), and not that cold in Trondheim (-3), with the snow we were looking...

At least the first real ski trip! ... in Sweden! Road was OK until the border, but 100m after the customs building, this was ice til the end. But once used to it, you can enjoy the landscape: (mountain in background is the one we will ski!) Huge difference...

Grakållen bis!

It might be one of the last dry and warm week-ends (I mean above 0°), so we enjoyed it! Short hiking trip close to Grakållen, following future cross country slopes (I mean soon). We started at 14h, but it was already getting dark ... This sunday lake!...

Droppskoking

This sunday was "typisk norsk", with some Norwegian activities at a friend's place. We missed the first time about candles, but we were there for candies! To sum up, 8 girls (all Norwegian except us), chemical stuff and lots of sugar. First step, cook...
